Obituary of Jerold A. Daughtrey

Jerold “Jerry” A. Daughtrey, of Livingston Manor, NY passed away on July 9, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. He was 83.

He was the son of the late Ponce Daughtrey and Blanche (Barfield) Daughtrey, born on December 3, 1939 in Clewiston, FL.

Jerry Daughtrey always led with love. He is survived by his wife, Doreen and stepchildren Scott, Jennifer and Melissa, grandchildren Miranda, Madison and Lucas. He is preceded in death by his daughter Lisa. He was a man of deep faith and found solace in his church community. He loved fishing, especially with his son-in-law Randall and best friend Al, his granddaughter Miranda and dear friends Patty & Billy. He was always surrounded by friends that were family because of the deep emotional friendships he created including but not limited to Patti Lamb, Gay Taffel, Jessica Wells, Pastor Chris DeLong and Al Drummond. Jerry ran his own plumbing business in the early years and later moved on to head custodian at the Wantagh and Boces schools in Long Island, where he met his “precious” Doreen. He loved to eat and was so appreciative of people who cooked for him, he loved his people and always told them so. But there is no one who he loved more than his beloved wife, Doreen.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 8pm on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at Colonial-Bryant Funeral Home 29 Pearl Street, Livingston Manor, NY 12758. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 7pm. Past Chris DeLong will officiate.
