Please share a memory of Dick to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dick D. Hennessey of Grahamsville, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Garnet Health Medical Center. He was 67.

He was the son of the late Wayne Hennessey and Grace O`Dell, born on May 11, 1956, in East Branch, NY.

When he was younger, he worked with his family at their family stone quarry. He later joined the Navy and proudly served our country for four years. Once he got out, he began his career as a Correctional Officer at Sullivan Correctional Facility until his retirement. He was previously the caretaker of Grahamsville Rural Cemetery. In his free time he enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family, especially the new edition to the family, his granddaughter Lorelai. He was such a genuine person and had a heart of gold. He would help anyone and give them the shirt off his back if they needed it.

He is survived by his devoted wife Penny Hennessey, his two daughters, Cheyenne Hoagland and her husband Josh, Sierra Hennessey and her fiance Lindsay Green, his granddaughter Lorelai Hoagland, his siblings Earl Hennessey and his wife Kelly, Mary Hennessey and her husband Gerry Wormuth, his brother in law, David Nevin, mother-in-law, Bonnie LaDuke, sister-in-law Renee Simerson and her husband Jeff, his dear friend Tommy Mackiel, and a host of extended family and friends including his loving nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister Bonnie Nevin, his father-in-law Chester LaDuke, and his sister-in-law Annette Dabrowski.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Tommy Mackiel for all his help, long visits, and support throughout this time.

Services will be handled privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like any donations to be made to the Ulster Heights Rod & Gun Club, where Dick was a member for many years.
