Obituary of Francisco Leon Zayas

Francisco Leon Zayas “Frank”, age 91, of Livingston Manor, NY passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024 unexpectedly from a long illness.

Frank was born on September 20, 1932 in Coamo, Puerto Rico o the late Euclidaes Zayas and Rosa Colon.

Frank relocated to Livingston Manor, NY in 1952 and worked in numerous jobs in Sullivan County. He started his own business in retail in the town of Livingston Manor in 1987. He was very well known and had the heart of a Saint. He came to know the Lord Jesus as his own personal Lord and Savior. And served him faithfully every day. After this he received his Christian Minsterial Credentials in 2007 as founder and Pastor of Iglesias El Lugar de Refugio for 10 years.

Frank me the love of his life Barbara Ann Zayas in 1959 and is survived by her, along with seven children Angelo Zayas, Linda Christian, Frank A. Zayas, Merton Zayas, Nancy Raisor, Francisco “Leon” Zayas, Jr., and Christopher Zayas. He has three living siblings Cruz Fuller, Ida Hernandez, and Juan Zayas. He is preceded in death by five siblings. He also had several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and spiritual grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Pastor Frank was a servant, preacher, teacher, singer, witness for Jesus and a people person. His earnest prayer is for all his family and friends to accept Jesus Christ as their own personal Lord and Savior and be with him in Heaven.

A graveside service will be held at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Livingston Manor, NY on January 11, 2024 at 12pm. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
