Obituary of Angela Michetti-Travis
Angela Travis, 69, of Woodbourne, NY passed away at home on February 18, 2018. She will be remembered for her deep love and devotion for her family, unwavering and unconditional care for others, and an infectiously warm and comforting personality.
Angela is survived and will be sorely missed and celebrated by her daughter Dina Travis; grandchildren Sean (Rose) and Kristina Williams, David and Adam Turner, and Jayson Calderon; great-grandson Nicholas Williams; sisters Dolores Michetti-Russo (Stuart Bacon), Diane Michetti (Raymond Apelles); brothers Anthony Michetti (Christine Keller-Michetti) and John Michetti (Linda); as well as her beloved nieces Cody, Jamie, Joelle, and Julia; and nephews Richard, Nicholas, Michael, and Robert, all of whom she boundlessly adored; as well as her many other extended family members and dear friends.
She is predeceased by her loving parents Angelo Michetti Sr. and June (Marafino) Michetti, and her brothers Joseph Michetti and Angelo Michetti Jr.
She was born on January 11th, 1949 in Manhattan and grew up in the Bronx. She graduated from George Washington High School in 1966 and then eventually went on and distinguished herself in her field by very proudly becoming the first woman in the history of her union; Boilermakers Local Lodge 5.
She immensely enjoyed passing time with various hobbies and activities, most notably gardening, knitting, and bird-watching; but what she did more passionately than anything else in the world was love and nurture her loved ones. From early in her life as the eldest of seven children, she devoted much of her childhood to assisting her hard-working parents with the often-daunting task of caring for her siblings. She applied that same level of selflessly undying love and devotion to the next three generations of her family as she truly and unequivocally personified her name -- and every conceivable form of the word "angel" -- in every imaginable way. Whether you were a friend, family member, charitable organization with a cause she cared about, or an absolute complete stranger; if you ever approached Angela in a time of need she would make it her unconditional priority to assist in any and every way she knew how. She unquestionably had a profound impact on everybody whose lives she touched, and will be most remembered and graciously appreciated and honored for the seemingly infinite amount of love she was responsible for casting on everyone who she came in contact with.
